The Keio collection was screened for mutants with defects in biofilm formation, identifying 110 mutations affecting biofilms (Niba, 2008).
Details:
The phenotypes were confirmed in P1 backcross transductants and the mutations were confirmed by PCR; some mutations or phenotypes could not be confirmed in one of the two Keio collection mutant strains, but they were omitted from the final 110 list (Niba, 2008).
