Description:
The Structure2Function (S2F) Structual Genomics project status report as of March 2009 lists 336 selected targets: 111 are from E. coli and most of the rest are from H. influenaae. S2F is targeting proteins of unknown function and without functionally characterized homologs in order to identify new folds and to predict and test functions based on structural features and structure-structure alignment searches. The functions, predicted pseudogene status, gene names and sequences of the predicted and proven E. coli proteome is continually updated so an update is provided below. The S2F status report contains additional information on cloning and solubility. Six of the 111 E. coli targets are now annotated as pseudogenes.
